About the Speaker
David Lewis
MA
As an Assistant Fire Chief with a large metropolitan fire department, I have spent more than 23 years responding to critical incidents and witnessing firsthand how trauma affects individuals, families, and entire communities. My experience includes serving on a FEMA Urban Search & Rescue Task Force (VA-TF2), the Virginia Department of Fire Programs, our Technical Rescue Team, and as a Peer Support Team member. These roles have provided extensive experience working alongside people impacted by crisis, loss, disasters, and cumulative stress. Today, as a Resident in Counseling and Brainspotting Practitioner, I specialize in helping adolescents and adults heal from trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions. I integrate Brainspotting with evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches to help clients process difficult experiences, build resilience, and reconnect with their strengths.
