Currently I serve as full-time online faculty in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Grand Canyon University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Mental Health Service Provider and qualified supervisor in Tennessee and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. I see clients through private practice and contract work, and my experience in mental health spans over 10 years. This experience includes various settings and populations including private practice, telehealth, community outpatient, foster care and family counseling and advocacy, residential inpatient, crisis stabilization, and substance abuse recovery. I also currently serve as the editor for the American Counseling Association Practice Briefs and as a member of the Research and Knowledge Committee. My research interests include counselor self-care and well-being, counselor education and supervision, and spirituality in both counseling and counselor education.
