About the Speaker
Cayetana Calderon-Smit
Cayetana Calderon-Smith’s discipline-spanning career is guided by a focal question: How might digital technology use interact with mental health, wellbeing, and decision-making? For over a decade, Cayetana was a digital designer and marketer who nudged behavior and action with a suite of sophisticated digital tools. This work prompted a mission-driven career shift: she now is a Professional Counselor in private practice, where she primarily explores protective, neutral and risky technology use and common co-occurring presentations. Her focus includes (i) digital process addictions / under-controlled tech use, (ii) digital communities (Incels, The Manosphere), (iii) digital literacy and other forms of protective, promotive or supportive technology use, (iv) neurodiversity support for Autistic people, and (v) psychotherapy for Gifted/2E clients.
