Counselors today face increasing administrative demands that often reduce the time available for direct client care. Documentation requirements, intake procedures, and other routine administrative tasks can contribute significantly to professional fatigue and burnout. Emerging artificial intelligence (AI) tools offer new opportunities to streamline these processes while maintaining ethical standards and high-quality clinical care. This session explores how counselors can responsibly integrate AI-assisted documentation and workflow automation into clinical practice to reduce administrative burden and improve efficiency. Participants will examine practical applications such as AI-supported note documentation, automated intake systems, and workflow management tools while considering ethical responsibilities related to confidentiality, informed consent, and data security. Through practical demonstrations and applied examples, attendees will learn how to evaluate emerging technologies and determine whether they align with professional counseling standards and clinical needs. By the end of the session, participants will be able to identify at least two administrative processes in counseling practice that can be supported by AI technologies, evaluate AI-assisted documentation tools using ethical and compliance criteria, and develop a brief implementation plan to integrate one AI-supported workflow into their practice within 30 days.
