About the Speaker
Sarah Irvin
Dr. Sarah D. Irvin is an Assistant Professor in the Professional Counseling Program at Stephens College. She earned her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Holy Cross in New Orleans, an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Delta State University, and a B.A. in Educational Psychology from Mississippi State University. Dr. Irvin is a Licensed Professional Counselor with clinical experience working with individuals coping with severe mental illness. Her research interests include creative teaching pedagogies, counselor supervision, and drag artistry. She is the recipient of the 2026 NCACES Outstanding Professional Teaching Award, recognizing innovation and excellence in counselor education. Dr. Irvin regularly presents at regional and national conferences on topics such as counselor wellness, supervision, and experiential teaching methods.
