Dr. Seneka Gainer is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and National Certified Counselor (NCC). She currently serves as an Assistant Professor and Clinical Director in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Jacksonville University and is the co-founder of The Gainer Group Counseling and Consulting, LLC. With over 17 years
of experience in diverse clinical settings, she brings a unique blend of counselor identity development, academic leadership, and clinical strategy.

A two-term ACA Governing Council member and former NECA President, Dr. Gainer is a recognized contributor to national conversations on AI integration in counselor education. Through her role as Clinical Content Lead at Inner Peak AI, she helps shape clinically grounded tools for student mental health and wellness. Her scholarship, national presentations, and consultation work explore how emerging technologies can be ethically and meaningfully integrated into counselor training and development.

Her scholarly and professional work centers on counselor development, including trauma-informed care, ethical decision-making, cultural identity, AI literacy, and the integration of foundational counseling skills throughout counselor education curriculum. Through her consulting, teaching, and thought leadership, she empowers professionals to lead with clarity, empathy, and adaptability in an evolving landscape.
