About the Speaker
Jhamarcus Pharaoh
Jhamarcus Pharaoh has been a middle school counselor for over 5 years now. As the lead counselor, Jhamarcus supports his counseling team to provide a comprehensive school counseling program that serves the diverse needs of all students. He has served as a site supervisor for multiple school counseling interns & practicum students. Jhamarcus is also a Doctoral Candidate in the Counselor Education & Supervision program at UGA and a PSC Emerging Scholar with ASCA. After completing his doctoral journey he plans to transition from school counselor to counselor educator. As a counselor educator, Jhamarcus wants to teach and conduct research that both liberates marginalized communities and supports the growth of the school counseling profession. He also wants to teach school counselors how to practice the craft in a way that both aligns with best practices and the hard reality of being a school counselor in P-12 settings. To date, Jhamarcus has earned a bachelor’s degree in Family & Consumer Sciences, as well as both an Masters & Specialist (Ed.S) in School Counseling. After the completion of his Ph.D., he will join the prestigious ranks of being a “Quadruple Dawg” at the University of Georgia.
