About the Speaker
Kimberly Seid
Kimberly Seid is a distinguished mental health professional with impressive credentials and experience. She is a Michigan licensed professional counselor, certified clinical trauma therapist, certified addiction counselor, certified clinical supervisor for addiction counselors, and an approved clinical supervisor. Kim is pursuing her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at CACREP-accredited Walden University, with expected completion in November 2025.
In her academic role, Kim serves as the CES Student Representative and is an active Chi Sigma Iota Omega Zeta member, where she is currently the co-chair of a Leadership Bootcamp for Walden University students. In 2021, she completed 94 hours in the Wilderness Reflections Professional Ecotherapy Certification Program, underscoring her commitment to integrating nature-based therapeutic practices into her professional work.
Kim helps lead the Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Center outpatient program, overseeing multiple locations throughout Michigan. Her leadership ensures the delivery of high-quality care and effective rehabilitation services. Additionally, she serves as the Treasurer of the Michigan Counseling Association, contributing to supporting and advancing the counseling profession in her state.
Her personal interests include camping, exploring nature, photography, and traveling both solo and with others, all of which complement her professional focus on holistic and ecotherapy practices. Kim's current research explores the impact of ecotherapy on recovery, which is related to the subject of her dissertation proposal. She is also interested in future research on the use of ecotherapy for the treatment of trauma and PTSD.
