Tanupreet Suri

Doctoral Lecturer

Tanupreet Suri is a Doctoral Lecturer in the Counselor Education program. She holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of New Mexico and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in NY, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in NJ and an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS). Tanu has extensive background working with a range of populations in various areas, including providing one on one counseling, group counseling, and mental health outreach on college campuses and with clients in private practice. Tanu’s scholarship interests include experiences of marginalized students within higher education, social media and new technology's role in identity development, the immigrant experience, and community-based participatory research. Training and supervising future counselors are Tanu’s passions, she continues to do this work through her teaching and mentoring of students and recent graduates.
