Desiree Jackson
Practicum and Internship Coordinator/ Counseling Faculty

Desiree Jackson is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor in Arizona. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision, where she continues to expand her commitment to the field of mental health.
Desiree serves as the Practicum and Internship Coordinator for GCU’s counseling programs and is a full-time faculty member in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. With a clinical specialty in trauma, she integrates her expertise into both her teaching and supervision roles.
As a counselor, educator, and supervisor, Desiree is deeply committed to honoring the dignity, growth, and potential of every individual. Her work is grounded in a humanistic framework, with person-centered therapy as her foundational theoretical orientation. She creates inclusive and supportive spaces where clients and students alike feel empowered to explore, heal, and grow.
Desiree’s research interests include impostor syndrome, counselor professional identity, cultural humility, and microaggressions.
