About the Speaker

Josselyn Ayala

Professional School Counselor

Josselyn Ayala is a Professional School Counselor at a high school in North Carolina and adoctoral student in the Counselor Education and Supervision program at Regent University. With prior experience as a school counselor in both high school and middle school settings across Georgia and Iowa, Josselyn brings a rich, cross-regional perspective to the field of school-based mental health. Her professional focus centers on supporting the wellness and resilience of both counselors and students, particularly within Title I schools. Josselyn’s current research interests explore the intersection of counselor burnout, self-advocacy, and self-care, with an emphasis on their implications for supervisory practice. She is especially interested in how supervisory relationships can serve as protective factors against burnout and in cultivating sustainable counselor development in under-resourced environments. Josselyn’s practice and scholarship reflect a commitment to ethical supervision, culturally responsive leadership, and integrative models that elevate the supervision experience across diverse educational contexts.
