Melissa Koen, M.S., LMHC, ACS has a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She is also a CCE Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS). Prior to joining William James College, she had twenty years of experience as a counselor and family therapist, and as a clinical and administrative supervisor. At Lighthouse School, she provided clinical services, collaborated with community agencies and various legal entities, trained mental health students and led their family services department. Prof. Koen is the Director of Field Education in the Counseling and Behavioral Health Department at William James College. She is a member of the American Counseling Association, the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association, and is the President of the Massachusetts-Rhode Island Association for Counselor Education and Supervision.
