Dr. Poppy Moon, Ph.D., LPC-S, NCC is a counselor educator, supervisor, and certified school counselor with over 20 years of experience in school and clinical mental health counseling. She is an Associate Professor and leads the School Counseling Program at the University of Louisiana Monroe, where she also serves as the Clinical Experiences Coordinator.

A passionate advocate for imaginative therapeutic approaches, Dr. Moon applies artistic methods in both teaching and supervision. She is an accomplished author and illustrator of guidance-related books, games, and videos, including Snoots Toots!, The School with No Rules, and Kicky the Mean Chick. Her work has earned multiple Mom’s Choice and Dr. Toy awards.

Dr. Moon has collaborated with Cengage and Out of This World Productions on educational videos covering sand tray therapy, poetry walls, and puppet techniques. She was named Alabama Elementary School Counselor of the Year in 2015. Through her work, she continues to inspire counselors to use creativity as a tool for meaningful change.
