Catherine Hallam, LPC, RPT-S, ACAS
Grand Canyon University
Dr. Catherine Hallam is a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Tennessee and Arizona with board certifications spanning three distinct counseling specialties. As a neurodiversity-affirming therapist and educator, Dr. Hallam is passionate about equipping neurodivergent adolescents and adults with sustainable, lifelong skills to thrive across personal, academic, and professional domains. She is a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S), an Advanced Certified Autism Specialist (ACAS), and an AutPlay Therapist, blending creative, evidence-based approaches with specialized training in autism and related neurodevelopmental conditions. Her work integrates telemental health (BC-TMH), clinical mental health expertise (CCMHC), and systemic interventions that center client voice, family collaboration, and strength-based development. Dr. Hallams academic work reflects her deep commitment to closing service gaps for neurodivergent populations. Her doctoral dissertation, Correlational-Predictive Study: K12 Teacher Self-Efficacy with Autistic Learners, examined the role of autism-specific professional development in increasing educator confidence and competence. Her earlier masters research addressed the chronic under-preparation of career counselors serving adults with ASD. In addition to clinical work as co-owner of Chapter & Page Counseling, LLCa neurodivergent-centered practiceDr. Hallam serves as Chair of the Behavioral Health Department at Grand Canyon University. In this role, she mentors future counselors at both undergraduate and graduate levels, supervises associate-level clinicians across specialties, and regularly integrates research into teaching and practice.
