About the Speaker
Cheryl Fisher
Director and Associate Professor

Dr. Fisher holds a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision and an MS in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University Maryland. She is the Online Director of Alliant International University’s MA in Clinical Counseling and has been a counselor educator for 20 years. Licensed as a clinical counselor and mental health provider in three states, Dr. Fisher has over 25 years of clinical experience. A trauma specialist and approved supervisor, she has supervised and mentored graduate counseling students and licensees for more than 15 years. She also maintains a private practice in Annapolis, Maryland. Dr. Fisher is a regular contributor to Counseling Today Online, where she hosts the column Counseling Connoisseur and frequently writes about nature therapy, spirituality, and overall wellness. She is the author of Mindfulness and Nature-Based Therapeutic Techniques for Children (PESI Publishing) and is currently working on her next book, Coming Home: Finding Your Savannah, which explores the intersectionality between human and more-than-human relationships.
