Emily Spencer, MS, NCC, LPC/LCPC provides telemental health services to residents of Pennsylvania and Maryland through her private practice, Lily of the Valley Wellness. She holds additional certifications as a perinatal mental health provider (PMH-C) and board-certified telemental health provider (BC-TMH). Emily earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Shippensburg University in 2013. With over a decade of counseling experience in various clinical settings, Emily’s current practice focuses on supporting clients who have experienced difficult reproductive journeys, are dealing with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and/or have experienced trauma. She has been extensively trained by leading experts in the perinatal field, including Postpartum Support International and The Postpartum Stress Center.
Emily has presented an educational session titled “Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders: What Every Counselor Needs to Know” at the 2023 Pennsylvania Counseling Association Annual Conference and will be presenting a poster titled “The Perinatal Therapist & Wounded Healer” at Postpartum Support International’s Annual Conference in July 2024. Additionally, she is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and is currently pursuing EMDRIA certification.
Outside of her direct work with clients, Emily enjoys helping other counselors grow their clinical skills and professional identity as an adjunct instructor in the Department of Counselor Education at Shippensburg University, providing clinical supervision toward licensure for master’s level clinicians in PA, and hosting a monthly virtual peer consultation group for perinatal mental health professionals from across the country.
