Dr. Marcy J. Douglass, Ph.D., NCC, LPC, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Counselor Education at Shippensburg University, where she has served for seventeen years. She earned her doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from the College of William & Mary. Dr. Douglass teaches various courses, including Grief and Loss in Counseling, Counseling Children, Couples and Family Counseling, Practicum, and Sandtray and Music in Counseling. She is the University liaison to Drew’s Hope, a grief and loss program for children and families, in partnership with the Drew Michael Taylor Foundation. As the principal investigator for research on Drew’s Hope, she collects data from participants and counselors-in-training who serve as facilitators. Dr. Douglass has presented on children’s grief and the Drew’s Hope program at the ACA and NARACES conferences, as well as on creative approaches to children's grief at ACA and ASCA national conferences.
